Parrots come in a variety of breeds. One of the most interesting breeds is the Pied Cockatiel. This bird breed has notably striking feather patterns and colors. It is small in size, roughly 12 inches long. Cockatiels enjoy being stroked and handled, as like a pet, and are very friendly to humans. They are gentle-natured and manageable.
The Pied Cockatiel bird breed is known to possess the ability to talk but is observed to prefer a vow of silence or just whistle occasionally. The best time of the day to teach them to talk is at twilight.
A healthy diet for Pied Cockatiels consist of fresh and fortified seed or pellet premixes daily along with some fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, hard-cooked eggs, and even cheese! Note however that excess consumption of fresh food may lead to runny bird droppings. Regular supplements also keep the Pied Cockatiel?s health at its optimum.
