Canaries come in a multitude of colors and are gifted with a singing voice, which is why it is a favored pet. The typical life expectancy of a canary is five years. These birds cannot be held like a pet. They prefer to entertain humans. The canary bird breed is very active and amusing, especially the male canaries who seem to have the ?better? singing voice, soothing to the ears.

Frequent feeding is necessary for canaries since it can literally die due to starvation when it is not fed within in a short period of 24 hours.
